Bili Helps to Fund Young Investigator Award to Further Research of Bile Duct Cancer

Chicago, IL – 2018 ASCO Annual Meeting – 2018 YIA recipient Marina Baretti, MD, with Supporters of the 2018 YIA in Cholangiocarcinoma during Donor Meeting at the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Annual Meeting, Saturday June 2, 2018. Approximately 40,000 physicians, researchers, and healthcare professionals from over 100 countries are attending the 54th Annual Meeting, which is being held at McCormick Place. The Bili Project Foundation had the honor of collaborating with fellow leaders from AMMF of the UK, The Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation and Target Cancer to fund The Conquer Cancer, Young Investigator Award (YIA) given at the ASCO Annual Conference in Chicago on June 2, 2018. The award was given to Dr. Marina Baretti of Johns Hopkins University Hospital (pictured left with Bili Co-Founder Sue Acquisto) to help fund dedicated research for new curative treatments for patients with Cholangiocarcinoma.

Young Investigator Awards
The Young Investigator Award (YIA) is a grant supporting early-career researchers to begin and establish the direction of their research. The award supports pre-clinical and clinical cancer research projects by oncologists who are undergoing a career transition from a fellowship program to a faculty appointment. Seventy-two investigators will receive YIAs this year.
