Risk factors associated with the development of Hepatobiliary cancers include but are not limited to:

  • Hepatitis B or C virus infection
  • Excessive alcohol intake
  • Fatty liver or steatohepatitis
  • Cirrhosis from any cause
  • Iron overload
  • Certain auto-immune diseases such as primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC)

Symptoms Include:

  • Jaundice – yellowing of the skin and eyes
  • Abdominal pain
  • Poor appetite
  • Weight loss
  • Itching
  • Pale stools
  • Dark urine
  • Fever
